Our connected Fuel it sensors are entering a new stage of quality!

Our 5 new connected sensors Fuel it have just arrived …. What change will you ask? Well, our sensors have just moved to a new stage of realization. They are machined, we will explain this process. Our previous sensors were made in 3D printing but that did not allow an optimal quality. In machining, it changes everything and you will see it for yourself. Good reading 🙂

Machining, what is it?

The basic principle of machining is the removal of material. It is obtained by cutting the constituent material of the part (in our case, a block of plastic). The cutting takes place by moving a tool in contact with the workpiece, placed in strong rotation, to obtain the desired dimensions, using a machine tool. By this technique, one obtains parts of a great precision.

In general, the shapes of the machined surfaces can be planar or of revolution. The main machining is milling (flat surfaces) and turning (surfaces of revolution). For our sensor, it is of course the shooting that has been executed.

Machining can be applied to many materials such as: steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, titanium, plastic and many other materials.
