Advances on the sensor
We are launching a second industrial pre-series to respond quickly to the many requests.
On this new and last pre-series, we made changes to the design of the electronic card (PCB). Minor electronic modifications as well as a modification of the shape for a better hold inside the sensor.
This pre-series will allow us to validate our new design before industrialization.
We are looking for several alternatives to realize this second pre-series. Indeed, so far, 3D printing was for us a good alternative for prototyping but it is now too long and not suitable.
Three new forms of sensor development are now available to us:
Plastic injection: Injection molding is a process for the use of thermoformable materials, in particular thermoplastics. Most parts are manufactured with plastic injection presses: the plastic is softened by heat and then injected into a mold and then cooled. This method is very expensive for a pre-series.
Machining: A family of chip making techniques. The principle of machining is to remove material so as to give the blank the desired shape and size, using a machine tool.
Resin: The principle is to create a mold to then pour resin. A mold is a hollow object that is used to reproduce a model. It can be hollow (female mold) or embossed (male mold) but in any case it serves to reproduce many times and strictly the same room. The problem of this method lies in the development of screw threads.
